All the events and steps of ablution discussed below are strongly selected from the six text books of hadis i.e. sihah e sitta and no matter of fiqah has been discussed. References are clear cut and can be seen easily.
Remember: it is our duty to accept everything written in Hadis e rasool whatever is available with us in the form of printed books as it must be a part of our faith and denial of hadis may take us to the path followed by munkareen e hadis.
May Allah save all of us from the fire of hell: Aameen.
1: RECITATION OF BISMILLAH BEFORE STARTING ABLUTION
It is essential to say Bismillah before starting ablution. Following Hadis describes the matter:
Holy Prophet MPBUH used to start ablution with Bismillah.
" Holy Prophet MPBUH said that : Whosoever does not start ablution in the name of God i.e. does not say Bismillah his ablution is not complete". (TIRMAZI)
Remember there is no prayer without ablution.
2: WASHING HANDS.
Holy prophet MPBUH then washed his hands including both wrists with water. See the following hadis:
" Holy prophet MPBUH washed his hands three times with water including the wrists" (SAHIH BUKHARI/ BAB UL WUZOO).
3: RINSING OF MOUTH AND NOSE THREE TIMES (QULLI)
As related in hadis see below:
"Holy Prophet MPBUH then rinsed his mouth with water i.e. put water in his mouth thrice and rinsed and cleaned his nose with water thrice"
Clean nose with left hand and rinse mouth with right hand: Remember.
4: WASHING THE FACE
One thing needs clarification that face includes forehead, cheeks, up to both ears and under the chin whole area and for bearded men full beard also.
Holy Prophet MPBUH used to wash his face thrice. See hadis below:
" Then Holy Prophet MPBUH washed his face thrice".
" Then He MPBUH took water in his hand and entered it under the chin for khalal or cleansing and wetting of the beard" (ABU DAUD)
" As related by Hazrat Usman bin affan Holy Prophet used to clean his beard i.e. khalal of beard while performing wazoo" (BUKHARI/ Declared Hassan hadis by imam bukhari)
5: WASHING FOREARMS UPTO ELBOWS INCLUDING THEM BOTH ON RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE
Then wash your both forearms including elbows on both sides one by one starting from right side and wash them thrice each. See hadis below:
THE HADIS MENTIONED BELOW COMPLETELY DESCRIBES THE PROCESS OF ABLUTION OF HOLY PROPHET MPBUH:
"As related by Hazrat Hamran RA that Hazrat Usman RA asked for water for ablution and it was brought : first he washed his hands/ palms thrice then rinsed his mouth with water and then put water in his nose and cleaned it thoroughly then washed his face thrice . Then he washed his right hand up to elbow thrice and similarly washed his left hand thrice up to elbow then performed masah of his head. After masah he washed his right foot up to ankle thrice and similarly washed his left foot up to ankle thrice. Then he said: " I HAVE SEEN HOLY PROPHET MPBUH PERFORMING WAZOO LIKE THIS" (RELATED. BUKHARI & MUSLIM).

REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING POINTS
USE YOUR RIGHT HAND FOR PUTTING WATER IN MOUTH : QULLI AND YOUR LEFT HAND FOR CLEANSING AND PUTTING WATER IN YOUR NOSE. USE YOUR LEFT HAND FOR WASHING BOTH FEET. WASHING MEANS THRICE AT THE MOST AND THE STANDARD IS THAT WHEN THE DROPS OF WATER DRIBBLE FROM THE PART OF BODY WHICH IS BEING WASHED IT IS SAID TO HAVE BEEN WASHED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ABLUTION THOROUGHLY.
DON'T WASTE WATER WHILE PERFORMING ABLUTION.
HOLY PROPHET MPBUH SAID AS RELATED BY HAZRAT ABDULLAH BIN AMAR BIN ALAAS " DON'T WASTE WATER WHILE PERFORMING
WAZOO EVEN IF YOU ARE PERFOMING WAZOO FROM A FLOWING CANAL" (TIRMAZI/ ABU DAUD)
6: MASAH OF THE HEAD
Next step is Masah of the head. See the hadis given below:
TRANSLATION:
" Hazrat Abdullah Bin Zaid Bin Asim says while describing the method of ablution that Holy Prophet MPBUH did the masah of his MPBUH head in such a way that he MPBUH started his hands from the front of head and took them to back of head and then brought them back from back to front i.e. at the starting point" (BUKHARI & MUSLIM).
Holy Prophet MPBUH used to perform masah of his MPBUH head in such a way that he MPBUH took both his wet hands from the front of head to the back or nape of neck and then coming back from back to front. This is the method of sunnah.
MASAH OF EARS IS AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF WUZOO

HOLY PROPHET WASHED HIS MPBUH LEFT AND RIGHT BOTH FEET WITH LEFT HAND THRICE EACH UP TO THE ANKLES AS MENTINED IN HADIS E RASOOL ABOVE.
SOME INVENTED AND AGAINST THE SUNNAH METHODS OF WUZOO PREVAILING IN OUR SOCIETY NOW DAYS: PLEASE AVOID THEM
1: People and ulama have invented the arabic words " NAWAITO AN ATAWAZZA" meaning niyyat of wuzoo is not at all mentioned in any book of sahiha hadis and is a bidaat. It is requested to avoid it. This is not mentioned in any hadis e rasool or even in fiqah books.
2: Masah of one fourth head is a bidaat and invented concept which is not mentioned in any book of hadis. Please avoid it.
3: Miswak has been promoted by Holy Prophet MPBUH for his MPBUH ummah especially before every prayer.
The concept of defining the length of miswak i.e one balisht etc is wrong and not proven in sunnah of the Prophet MPBUH. Miswak of any length can be use . Length of miswak is a new invention by so called ulama and it cannot be accepted as it is against sunnah.
4: The prayers of wuzoo are mentioned in hadise rasool i.e. start with Bismillah and no prayer should be offered till you finish the wuzoo except a few mentioned at the end of ablution. Reciting Durood Sharif while performing wuzoo is a bidaat and not at all proven by sunnah of the prophet. Avoid it.
5: Readers are referred to book of Mishkaat and Bukhari for masnoon prayers of wuzoo as they cannot be mentioned here in arabic. Readers must avoid the new methods of wuzoo and must avoid bidaat and must follow sunnah.
6: Recitation of qalam e shahadat is not allowed and is not proven while washing body parts for wuzoo and is a bidaat and readers must save themselves from this practice.

1: Body parts can be washed once, twice or thrice during wuzoo . See hadis below:
"Hazrat Abdullah Bin Zaid RA related that Holy Prophet MPBUH performed wuzoo washed his parts twice and twice" (BUKHARI)
REMEMBER
ONLY ONCE , TWICE OR THRICE IS ALLOWED AND MORE THAN THIS IS As SIN AS WASTAGE OF WATER IS NOT ALLOWED.
2: In case of sever cold weather, disease, unavailability of water Holy Prophet MPBUH provided easiness of Masah on socks , bandages and caps for ever and it is proven from sunnah of the prophet.
Some ulama and people have spread the idea that this order is only for leather socks but this concept is self woven , invented and fiqah promoted and is against the sunnah of the Prophet and His MPBUH sahaba. Remember among aima e arba imam shafi, imam malik and imam ahmed bin hambal all accept it except imam abu hanifa.
In arabic language the word TASKHEEN means giving heat and it is the opposite of the word TABREED which means giving cold to some part of body.
Any thing worn on feet , head or wound which provides heat to the body is included in this list of TASAKHEEN and can be used for masah i.e socks of cloth, leather, imama on head etc.
Please see the hadis below and decide yourself that the confusion is this matter has been created by maulvis and so called ulama who don't have the knowledge of hadis. They try to become more pious than Holy Prophet MPBUH by denying the facilities and comforts provided by Allah and his Prophet MPBUH for the muslims and some people advance the argument of ayat e Qurani that Allah has mentioned the method of ablution and ordered the muslims to wash the feet but my answer to such people is that Quran was revealed on Prophet MPBUH and our ulama are no body to decide the verses of Quran when hadis e rasool and sunnah has allowed something . 1): Mughira Bin shoaba RA related that Holy Prophet MPBUH performed masah on his MPBUH socks and shoes also" (ABU DAUD/TIRMAZI/IBNE MAJA: MISHKAAT: KITAAB UL TAHARAT)
2): Hazrat Abu Musa Ashaari RA related that Holy Prophet MPBUH while performing ablution did masah on his socks and shoes also" (IBNE MAJA)
CLARIFICATION
The shoes used by the Holy Prophet MPBUH were of such a style that whole of the upper side of the shoe was open and it was only sole and two laces on the top so He MPBUH when bare foot would wash his MPBUH feet and when with socks would perform masah. We have closed shoes with us mostly and we can perform masah on socks.

Hazrat Soban RA related that Holy Prophet MPBUH sent a small group of people (jamaat) outside and those people experienced cold during journey and on their return back they complained in front of Prophet MPBUH about the cold so Holy Prophet ordered them to perform masah under these circumstances on imamas and tasakheen"( ABU DAUD)
SOCKS OF CLOTH NYLON etc IMAMAS , CAPS , SHOES , WOUND DRESSINGS ARE ALL INCLUDED IN THIS DESCRIPTION OF TASAKHEEN AS MENTIONED ABOVE IT MEANS ANY THING PROVIDING HEAT TO THE BODY SO MASAH ON SOCKS OF CLOTH IS SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET MPBUH . IT IS ALLOWED AND MUST BE DONE WHEN NEEDED AND ANY BODY WHO TRIES TO BECOME MORE INTELLIGENT THAN PROPHET MPBUH AND DOES NOT DERIVE BENEFIT OUT THESE RELAXATIONS GIVEN BY THE PROPHET AND GOD HE IS ON WRONG PATH.
IN THE END WISH TO MENTION A VERY IMPORTANT HADIS:
Hazrat Jabir RA related that we embarked on a journey and one man amongst us was hit by a stone in his head and he had a wound in his head. Then he had a Night Fall (IHTALAM) same day and (bath i.e. Ghusal e janabat became wajib on him). He asked his friends do you find relaxation of tayammum for me (under these circumstances). The replied and said no we don't find any such relaxation for you because you can use water and (water is available so what is the need of tayammum). After this interrogation that injured man took bath and died. When we came back and Holy Prophet MPBUH came to know the details of this very incident and He MPBUH said " Those friends have killed him May Allah kill them. When they themselves did not know the solution of his problem why didn't they ask anybody else because asking is the shifa of diseased wisdom. It was sufficient for that man ( who died ) to perform tayammum and cover his wound with bandage and then perform masah on his bandage and wash the rest of his body". ( ABU DAUD).
