question I don't understand why our famous ULAMA come on TV? Don't they know that its a sin etc? Because I always tell my friends that TV and pictures are not allowed in islaam. They are haraam etc. but when such a noted personality comes in TV or his pictures are shown in newpaper, the same friends tell me, WHATS THAT? why are these ULAMA not acting upon it then? I get stuck and have no answer to that. because these ULAMA are the authority and people respect them lots. so when they come on TV and newspaper, people think that it is "JAAIZ". It makes me so sad and sometimes i do get angry a lot. So what do you think i should do?

answer When a prominent person comes on TV, although it encourages the viewers, yet it does not legalise the TV watching or buying it. It does not permit it to keep in a house. So, a particular or his practice does not change the laws of the Shari'ah. One should follow the laws of the Shari'ah and not a particular person or his practice. This is an obligation. If it is not fulfilled, there will be punishment for it.
TV programs without picture of non-Mahrma and not contrary to the Shari'ah laws, and without any lewdness of singing and music and are relayed directly (that is they should not shoot any incident) are difficult to fall into the category of picture. So, there is not wrong to watch that sort of programs in the views of the Shari'ah. However, better it is to be avoided too.

Well what my personal point of view about this issue is that these Ulamaaz are actually spreading the Message of Islam through the most powerful media available today, and its of course Television (electronic media). I personally don't find anything wrong in this regard.

As far as the point is concerned that women at homes look at those Maulana Hazraat who are Na-Mehram for them. Well for this point, I would say that PARDA is not for men, in fact it is just for women. So, if an Aalim e Deen comes on TV, giving the message of Allah, then he is not doing any kind of Bai-Pardagi of him and he isn't causing any sort of Fitnah.

Yes, there may be a point that women, if stare at those Ulamaa, may get some wrong thinking, then this wrong thinking would be a sin for those particular women as they are thinking about a pious person of Allah in a wrong way, who is giving them Allah's message. But in this case, there won't be any mistake of that Aalim, it would be due to wrong mentality of that particular women that she thinks in that manner about a person who is giving her the message of Allah and His Prophet (SA).

Alhamdulillah QTV and Peace TV have really given me great knowledge of Islam. I would like all of you to watch program named "Ehkaam e Shariyat" on alternate days at 8 PM, only on Q TV. This program is done is Mufti Muhammad Akmal Sahib, who is an excellent Aalim e Deen of Ehl e Sunnat and has very strong grip on Quran, Hadith and Fiqah. Secondly, watch everyday (except Sunday) lectures of Maulana Tahir ul Qadri Sahib on different topics at 10 PM.

Yes! for women, one may say that they can't even come in any Islamic Program. But I personally believe that if women is in proper Hijaab, and if she is Aalimah and has got sufficient knowledge to come on TV and lead people to the way of Allah, then she can come (this is my own opinion, it may be wrong).

And no doubt, Allah has the best knowledge.
