My Beautiful Rain

I lie in the stillness
anxiously awaiting the rain
I imagine it will start softly
like a gentle kiss
Its sweet scent
running over my body
and drenching my every thought
It caresses me from head to toe
taking over my senses
I surrender as it seeps into a place
where no other has been before
Like an endless wave
it comes down hard and steady
as my breath quickens
Then slowly and tenderly
it softens again
calmly quenching my desires
I am left aching for more
knowing that I could come to love this rain
with all that I am
But for now I drift off to dull the pain
as I await my beautiful rain
